Last Week of School

OK, so if I had to guess, the last week of school has to be the busiest week of the year. Luckily, Monday was Memorial Day so we did get to rest some. Azlyn had to go to school but they had bounce houses that day so she was pretty excited. After she got out we went to watch Star Trek in Decatur with some free tickets given to us by a friend. It was entertaining for 2 hours but I wasn't all that impressed. I grew up watching Star Trek the Next Generation with my mom and dad and it wasn't really anything like that.

Tuesday morning I had to drop off Tony's truck at the shop to fix the dent from the lady backing into it while it was sitting in the parking lot at work. The rest of the morning was rocking along nicely when my day care provider called around 11:45 to let me know that Hazel had devolped some sort of rash that seemed to be spreading fast. So I rushed her to the doctor (back to Decatur). She had some kind of allergic reaction to a bug bite and she is doing much better now. Tuesday night we grouted our table for our deck. I am so proud of the way it turned out. I will have to post pictures soon. Tony and I are actually thinking about making some and trying to sell them. I don't know, we'll see. I am so proud that Tony has really found something (besides golf) that he enjoys doing and in my opinion is really good at.

Now for Wednesday, Azlyn's music program was at 8:30. She did really well even if all she did was "play a stupid tamborine". (Her words, not mine.) Work was busy and I spent every free minute trying to call parents to help with Alzyn's last day of school party. I am the room mother so this falls on me. I know it was probably short notice, but my moms are usually pretty good to help where needed. Last night we kind of started cleaning up the deck because Friday the whole family is coming over for dinner. (Why did I schedule that for this week?) Tony and I spray painted some chairs mom and dad gave us. Hazel tried to help but just ended up covered in black paint.

Today is Thursday and Azlyn didn't have any school stuff today but I am going to the grocery store to get items for our cookout tomorrow evening as well as the stuff for Azlyn's school party tomorrow morning. We have a game tonight at 7:15 so I have a feeling that this will be our night to eat out this week. I've been trying so hard to cook as much as possible. As hectic as our lives are, we always make time for family dinner around the table. It's something my parents always did and I think is good for family communication.

Tomorrow is Friday. Melody is keeping Hazel because her day care is closed. School party starts at 11:15. Mom, dad, granny, papa, Graham, Summer and kids will be at the house at 6:00 for dinner. Looking forward to it. Luckily I have a wonderful best friend in Shana who is currently at my house doing some much needed cleaning. We decided this would be a good trade off for picking up Siah for school everyday this year.

Saturday, the best man from our wedding is having an all day 30th birthday party at the lake. Sounds like sunburn. But the kids will enjoy it.

Sunday, we just got free tickets to the Colonial golf tournament in Fort Worth. Tony will definately go but I am questionable. Sounds like a Rusty and Tony adventure to me. Maybe I will stay at home and catch up on some much needed lazy time.

Monday Azlyn starts basketball camp. And summer. We don't really have a plan as far as what she is going to do everyday. I just plan on relying on friends and family. I am lucky to have those in my life who love my child and are willing to keep her for me. She doesn't mind, as long as she has someone to play with.

Somewhere in the middle of it all, I work 40 hours a week. But you know I was talking to a coworker this morning who said you know what, you wouldn't know what to do with yourself if you weren't busy. That's probably true.
